Shannon Gale is an American Realism Painter.  Her Artwork is in private collections around thecountry and has been seen in magazines.

Gale was born in 1964 and grew up in the bohemian enclave of Marin County, California.  Her art education began in San Francisco where she started working in fashion.  She continued her education in Los Angeles where she transitioned to working in the film industry. Living in Venice, the emerging coastal artists in the scene left their mark on her.

She was heavily influenced by the LA Film, Fashion and art scene and her extensive travels. Raised in an enclave of international single women in the 70’s, provided a backdrop of the fast life. Surrounded by a movement of sexual liberation, drugs, antiwar sentiments, gay rights and divorce. The beautiful haute hippie intellectuals challenged cultural norms while basking in material excess of high design, hot tubs, Patti Hearst, Black Panthers, Jefferson Starship and BMW’s, a place where acceptance and breaking boundaries led the Nation.

Born into a legacy of well-known painters dating back to the 18th Century, creative expression was a natural form of expression.  She depicts figures and seascapes through a cinematic perspective.

While working in the in the film industry she met and married an actor.  They moved out of LA  to Minnesota to work on a film and then as a photo stylist and stayed to raise a family.  Raising 2 sons, now both artists working in NYC.  One a fashion photographer and the other a film maker and musician.

She finally has the time to paint a lifetime.
